— WHO WE ARE

About

Cardinia Catchment Landcare is a community-led group working to restore native vegetation, protect waterways and rebuild wildlife habitat across our region. Through practical, hands-on projects with volunteers, schools and local partners, we help care for creeks and strengthen the catchment for a healthier bay.

— WHY IT MATTERS

Small actions. Mighty Change.

With native vegetation disappearing and waterways under pressure, planting native trees is one of the simplest and most powerful actions we can take to restore habitat, protect waterways and build healthier landscapes and communities.

Every creek that runs cleaner. Every paddock that becomes a forest again. Every bird that finds a hollow because someone planted a tree fifteen years ago. That’s the work. It’s local, it’s ongoing, and it adds up.

— WHAT WE DO

Our services

Four methods we use to care for country — the patient, ground-level work that turns good intentions into living landscapes.

Land restoration

Returning damaged country to health — addressing erosion, weed invasion, and lost soil structure with patient, science-led techniques.

Native planting

Specialising in indigenous species sourced and grown in our own nursery — the right plants for the right place, every time.

Water conservation

Protecting the creeks, streams, and wetlands that feed Western Port Bay — from riparian planting to monitoring catchment health.

Educational workshops

Bringing landcare practice into classrooms, community halls, and the bush itself — building knowledge that takes root.

When people come together to care for the land, nature has an incredible way of giving back.

— IN ACTION

Our projects

From education to restoration, explore how our projects connect the catchment to the coast.
  • Hill 2 bays

    Hill 2 bays

A regional initiative tracing the critical connection between our mountain catchments and our coastal marine environments. Supported by the Southern Ranges Environment Alliance, we bridge the gap between inland conservation and marine stewardship.

  • Western Port Schools Program

    Western Port Schools Program

An educational initiative that empowers the next generation to understand and protect the vital waterways flowing into Western Port. With our 20 years of experience of working with schools along Cardinia Creek we bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world environmental action.

  • Hills 2 Bays Indigenous Plant Nursery

Hills 2 Bays Indigenous Plant Nursery

Hill 2 Bays Indigenous Plant Nursery The production engine for our regional restoration efforts. Our work is built upon 20 years of specialized horticultural history, evolving from the original Upper Beaconsfield Indigenous Nursery through the Green Circle Nursery to our current identity.
